Retirement Community at Julia Morgan's Marina Landmark Files Expanded Eight-Story Addition
Heritage on the Marina and Sequoia Living have filed revised plans for a major expansion behind the 1925 landmarked Julia Morgan Building at 3400 Laguna Street.
An ambitious redevelopment of one of the Marina District's most architecturally significant sites took a new step this week when updated plans were filed for the Heritage on the Marina retirement community at 3400 Laguna Street. The latest application, filed by Heritage on the Marina and nonprofit senior housing provider Sequoia Living, seeks to add an eight-story complex directly behind the landmarked three-story brick facility designed by the celebrated Beaux-Arts architect Julia Morgan. Once complete, the two-structure development would span approximately 196,700 square feet, including 134,180 square feet of residential space.
