After a Decade of Delays, Demolition Begins This Week at the Divisadero Car Wash

The corner of Divisadero and Oak streets — a source of neighborhood frustration for nearly a decade — is finally coming down this week. Public Works has issued permits for construction-related sidewalk and street closures along the Divisadero and Oak frontages, with October 19 listed as the start date, and a demolition permit for the former Touchless Car Wash is also in process, according to the San Francisco Chronicle and SFist. Greystar, the largest apartment developer in the United States, is under contract to acquire the site from original developer 4Terra Investments and has secured financing for the project.
