St. Louis–based developer McCormack Baron Salazar has agreed to pay $9 million to the City of San Francisco to resolve years of documented health and safety violations at Alice Griffith Apartments, a 337-unit affordable housing complex in the Bayview neighborhood. City Attorney David Chiu announced the settlement on August 26 alongside Mayor Daniel Lurie and Supervisor Shamann Walton. The deal was approved by the complex's investors on August 21 and by the city three days later; the city has since filed a stipulated injunction in San Francisco Superior Court to make the terms enforceable by a judge.
